Characteristics of the financial and banking services market

The basic approaches to the definition of the concepts of «financial market» and «banking services market» and their features are revealed. The role of banking institutions in various segments of the financial market - loan capital, securities, etc. - is characterized. The essence and relation of concepts banking operation, banking product and banking service are disclosed. The analysis of the current state of the banking services market in Ukraine is made in the context of major groups of banks - state, foreign and domestic capital. The main indicators of activity of the top 20 banks of Ukraine by size of assets are analyzed.
