Abstract

The article presents the analysis of the relationship between Russia and Turkey based on current foreign policy, economic, and military events in the Middle East. The paper attempts to identify the degree of influence of external (US) factor on the dynamics of bilateral relations, as well as to create a predictive model of its implementation in terms of the expected adjustment of US foreign policy in connection with the election of a new US president. It reveals that Russian active participation in the Syrian military conflict contributed to the formation of a new architecture of regional relations in the Middle East that suggests that the configuration of cooperation between the different states is changing. Expansion and intensification of Russia's dialogue with the countries of the region, rapprochement between Turkey, Iran poses a direct threat to US interests. It seems logical to assume that the new administration of the White House will adjust US foreign policy in the Middle East based on current trends. However, the stabilization in the region is possible only on the basis of constructive international cooperation between regional and global actors: through constructive Russian-Turkish cooperation, taking into account US interests in the region.
