Abstract
This article describes the decision making process as a multi-criteria selection problem. The problems arising during the solution of multicriteria problems are identified, the main methods of multicriteria choice are analyzed. An algorithm for the normalization and formalization of selection criteria based on the concepts of the theory of fuzzy sets is proposed.
