Abstract
Family is the oldest social group of people connected with the blood relatives. The name of this ethnic group can be called in other names in various languages of the world but the meaning and importance is not underestimated. Language and culture form different mentalities and theories therefore there are a lot of peculiarities of family concept in both East and West. The features of the family concept in English and Uzbek families are an interesting topic to delve in linguistic sphere. This article deals with the role of family in both western and oriental countries.
