Abstract
Tin oxide- Copper oxide composites were synthesized by a hydrothermal method using tin chloride dihydrate Tin oxide- Copper oxide composites were synthesized by a hydrothermal method using tin chloride dihydrate ray diffraction and dielectric analysis. The average crystallite sizes were determined. The analysis exhibited a tetragonal phase for tin oxide and cubic phase for copper oxide. The microstructure of the composites were examined by the scanning electron microscopy. Optical properties were investigated by a UV-Vis absorption spectrophotometer. Good electrical response of the composites to cigarette smoke was observed in dielectric analysis, holding substantial promise for SnO2-CuO as a challenging material for novel sensing applications.
