WELL-KNOWN ASHUG-POET MOLLA JUMA, OR UNKNOWN REALITIES ABOUT THE KNOWN ASHUG

The information present in the scientific sources is being clarified in the article about the Molla Juma Layisgili, the eminent representer of the ozan-ashug art of Azerbaijan in XIXXX centuries. The details about the dates of his birth and death and current location of his grave, name and geneology, identity of his beloved İsmipunhan, some moments from his life and works, fate of his family, as well as his murder are being clarified. Furthermore, the inaccuracies existing by now are being denied by facts. We hope that the issues being raised in this article will contribute to the development of the folklore studies.
