A RARE CASE REPORT ON INCIDENTAL FINDING OF SEROUS PAPILLARY PERITONEAL CARCINOMA DURING CESAREAN SECTION

Abstract
The incidence of serous papillary peritoneal carcinoma in pregnancy is very rare. In this case we incidentally found that during cesarean section. A 27 years old primi presented at thirty eight weeks of gestation with complaints of draining per vaginum, induction done. Emergency caesarean done in view of failure to progress. We incidentally found that both the ovaries were enlarged and cystic and there is multiple nodular deposits over the surface of uterus, ovary, omentum, sigmoid colon and peritoneal surfaces. Pouch of douglas was obliterated by the growth. Excised growth sent for histopathological examination. It showed extensive serous papillary adenocarcinoma deposits with psammoma bodies. Postoperatively evaluation done and chemotherapy started.
