Abstract
The author describes the influence of nitrogen compounds in living organisms on biological processes and the environmental pollution. Peculiarities of accumulation of nitrates in plants are analyzed. The problem of contamination of plant products with nitrates in Georgia is especially emphasized.
The following means are used to solve the problem of influence of chemical substances on the environment: modern machinery, developed farming culture, fertilizers, complex chemical means, progressive processing technologies etc.
