Abstract
The dire need to ensure food security has become alarming as a result of increase in population with reduction in food production. This has not only been a serious consequence for the entirety of human population on earth but the scourge of climate change makes it more deleterious. The effects of climate change have become evident in recent times and it has been revealed in various studies and researches that the effect is global even though some regions and countries will be affected more by climate change. This portends more doom for the populace as food insecurity stares them in the eye. This study will take a look at the roles agricultural engineering can play in ensuring food security and it will rely on evidences from relevant literature to critically address the topic under consideration, and eventually arrive at a reasonable conclusion. Various categories of agricultural engineering techniques will be analyzed to show how it can be harnessed to ensure food security in Nigeria
