Abstract
The main objective of this paper is to identify the determinants of the Carbon dioxide emission for the case of the Republic of Djibouti using Autoregressive Distributed Lag (ARDL) model and bounds test for cointegration over a period 1990-2017. The results indicate that per capita income and the rate of urbanization are the main factors influencing CO2 emissions in the Republic of Djibouti. Urbanization has a positive and significant impact on CO2 emission, while per capita income levels reduce CO2 emissions.
