Abstract
The waste soil improvement in terms of strength has been applied by adding the egg shell powder and lime to waste soil. The cementation effect on the mixing proportion of egg shell powder and lime are studied in this research. The mixing proportion such as addition of 2.5% Lime and 2.5% Egg Shell Powder, addition of 5% Lime and 5% Egg Shell Powder, addition of 7.5% Lime and 7.5% Egg Shell Powder are conducted in this research with curing time of 7 days, 14 days and 21 days. The scanning electron microscope are used to investigate the cementation bonding of waste soil and lime and ESP. In conclusion, all specimen shows the grain flaky and plate-like shape that discovered as shape of the soil. Formation of CSH can be seen from lowest until the highest addition of lime and ESP. The sample with addition 7.5% lime and 7.5% ESP gives the firmest solid shape and the least grain. All Specimen consist of three main elements which are Aluminium, Silicon and Oxygen and can be classified as Kaolin group of soil. Spectra of 21 days of curing shows the higher calcium content than 7 days of curing as the calcination process occurred.
