SPECTRAL OCCUPANCY METERING IN DIGITAL TELEVISION BANDS

Currently, TV white spaces are considered as an opportunity to use more efficiently the radio-electric spectrum in the digital television band all over the globe. The purpose of this article is to present some of the radio-electric spectrum metering campaigns developed so far in the digital television band and perform a small metering campaign of the spectrum in the digital television band for the city of Bogotá, Colombia. The results show that the spectrum band allocated for digital TV in the city of Bogotá has a highly static behavior with an availability of TV white spaces
