Abstract
The construction of accumulating reservoirs is the main option for the exploitation of water resources in Kosovo due to the fact that water resources are limited. The water utilization rate in household sector is almost equal to all the other water seasons used by other sectors such as agriculture and industry. Water demand for industry and agriculture sectors is growing and exploitation of the upper part of the River Llap to meet these demands is a sustainable solution with many benefits. This paper aims to analyze the possibilities of water exploitation from this river through the construction of a Dam where the average annual inflows in the Dam profile are 1.23m3/s. The topographic data at the selected site for Dam construction allows for the collection of water from a catchment area of 107.5 km2 where the normal height of the water would go up to the 770 a.s.l. while the height of Dam 40 m. The volume of water in this reservoir would be 35,000,000 m3 . Water exploitation from this accumulation would meet water demand especially for agriculture for many low areas around the River Llap and at the same time would be an alternative source for Power Plant A and B as well as for the new Power Plant “Kosova e Re”
