Old Russian family: its traditions and values

In modern conditions, the crisis of the family as a social institution of society is becoming increasingly noticeable. Fertility is declining, mortality is increasing, a frivolous attitude towards marriage and family, forgetfulness of the principles of honor, drunkenness, and sexual licentiousness appear. Formation and strengthening of the family is a hot topic for modern society. In order to overcome the decline in family values, in our opinion, we should turn to the mores and customs of our distant ancestors. Indeed, in Old Russian society, family breakdown was a very rare occurrence. The form of existence of the Old Russian family was a combination of legal norms, values, rules, behaviors that formed its unity, integrity, made the basis for the development of Russian society.
