Abstract
The article defines the socio-economic effect for the old industrial mining regions as a result of the implementation of: measures to optimize production at domestic TPPs (optimal load distribution among TPPs) and the Energy Strategy of Ukraine for the period up to 2035 «Safety, energy efficiency, competitiveness». The socio-economic consequences of reducing the demand for coal due to the optimization of the load on thermal power plants are given. The socio-economic implications for old industrial mining regions in the framework of the implementation of the Energy Strategy of Ukraine for the period up to 2035 under two scenarios are analyzed.
