Abstract
Drought can be defined as a lack of precipitation that occurs over a period of time. It is a common natural disaster in our country and in the world. Prediction of drought can reduce some of the negative consequences of agricultural, environmental and economic aspects. Therefore, researchers have developed several methods to predict drought. The most commonly used of these is the Standardized Precipitation Index (SPI In this study, drought analysis of six meteorological stations in Isparta located in southwest Turkey was made by using SYI method. Standard Precipitation Index values were calculated for 1, 3, 6, 9, 12, 24 month periods. Considering the 32-year period in which the evaluation was made, it was found that there was no decreasing trend in the rainfall values of the stations examine
