Managing the academic staff professional career in a higher education institution

Abstract
The article deals with the problem of professional career management of scientific and pedagogical workers in higher education institution, reveals the essence of professional career, content and technology of management, substantiates the necessity of managing professional career of teachers in higher education. A professional career is a succession of personal development goals, and management is a direct influence, so to speak, of interfering with that development. These important concepts are very closely related, and in such cases, in our opinion, one can speak of such a phenomenon as the management of a professional career. Such management of the professional careers of scientific and teaching staff allows to achieve the dedication of employees to the interests of the educational establishment, to ensure the increase of labor productivity, the disclosure of the abilities of each employee, as well as to reduce the turnover of personnel. The theoretical analysis of the scientific works of the above-mentioned scientists has made it possible to conclude that career management is a leading element in the development of management and scientificpedagogical staff of an educational institution, which needs to find topical solutions for its improvement and development in connection with new tasks that arise in front of our country's education system. Despite the considerable scientific achievements of foreign and domestic scientists on the problems of managing the professional careers of educational institutions, the issues of the essence, content and technology of management of the professional careers of higher education institutions' managers and teaching staff remain under-researched. Management of the professional careers of scientific-pedagogical staff of the institution of higher education is one of the most complex personnel technologies – it is a complex technology of influence of managers and personnel services on purposeful development of abilities of employees, rational use of their potential in the interests of the scientific and pedagogical professions, educational institution.
