Abstract
In March 28, 2017, a discussion on the role of philosophy in the under-standing of social technologies took place at the Faculty of Social Science, Lobachevsky State University of Nizhny Novgorod. The discussion focused on the conceptual analysis of this phenomenon and the possible involvement of philosophy in constructing the theory of social technologies. During the discussion, social technologies appeared as a philosophical, political and scientific issue shaped by their definition. The participants considered a variety of approaches to the analysis of this phenomenon.
