Abstract
This essay discusses the reasons for Qur'an's omission of masculine and feminine congruity and explains this from the perspective of meaning. We claim that this omission creates a superior eloquence. For the semantics of a word concerns its opposition while incongruity is related to congruity of meaning. Although the congruity between the predicate and the pradicated is central, it is not compulsory. This means that in Arabic language interpretation has a very wide area of usage. For that reason neither congruity nor incongruity of syntax can be taken as an absolute rule.
