Abstract

This article focuses on one of the most important and at the same time one of the most challenging problems of contemporary psychology of sport, namely the consideration of the problem of rehabilitation of combat athletes who had endured the severe traumatic situations during their active participation in sports competitive activity. The specific features inherent in sports competitive activity in sports full contact martial arts assume the implementation uncom-promising and at the same time enough rigid competitive, oppositional wrestling that regulated by rules. This lends additional complexity of issue considered by us. During the competition, it is allowed to combat athlete in favor of entertainment and showiness of the sporting events to apply rather rigid technical actions of physical impact, which depending on the specific type of martial arts may contain technology of blows, throws, suffocating and painful techniques in the arsenal. Thus, is obvious that, in comparison with other sports, here probability to get into a serious traumatic situation much above, as well as extent of the negative effect on a psychological and physical condition of the athlete. Of course, loss in any kind of sport is unpleasant; the athlete rather painfully perceives it. Especially when level of sports competitions the high. The athlete is afraid to seem weak, to let down the coach and teammates. At the same time, the injury risk is also present at other sports. However, if to compare characteristics of activity in such game sports as soccer, basketball, hockey, in these sports it is possible to be traumatized as a result of a force-majeure in the form of uncontrollable accident while in full contact martial arts the rigid physical impact on the rival is regulated by the established rules of sports meet. To the athlete who has endured the severe traumatic situation, it is much more difficult to restore the psychological and physical condition, and subsequently to return to sports activities and participation in competitions. A distinctive feature of this work from others, related on subject and purpose, is that by drawing up the program of rehabilitation of combat athlete we took into account the specific distinctive features inherent in full contact martial arts.
