Abstract
This article continues the author's series of articles devoted to the study of various aspects of emotion understanding by preschool children. Based on an analysis of the results of a wide range of foreign and native psychological studies, including his own research, the author provides evidence of the advantage of preschool girls both in recognition of facial expressions of emotion and understanding of the situational causes of emotions, of social emotions, of belief-based emotions, and of their own emotional states. In conclusion, the hidden possibilities of boys in emotion understanding and the social determinants of gender differences in emotion understanding by preschool children are revealed
