Abstract

The article is devoted to the theoretical substantiation and experimental study of psycho-physiological indicators of mental performance of higher education applicants. It is noted that increasing the information load in the learning process, the discrepancy between its quality and quantity of psycho-physiological and personal capabilities, the emergence of emotional and stressful situations can make and have a very negative impact on the success, well-being and health of applicants of higher education. Most often you have to meet with a state of fatigue, expressed in a temporary decrease in mental performance. During the experimental study, it was found that the majority of applicants for higher education are dominated by average indicators of the selected psycho-physiological parameters (average level of development of sustainability and selectivity of attention, short-term memory, average or satisfactory level of development of analytical thinking in mental activity). The subjects have the ability to select meaningful information and ignore the irrelevant and incidental, the ability for a certain time to keep attention on a particular object, not to be distracted, but not weaken it. They discovered the ability to operate with concepts, which allows them to successfully master various activities, in particular educational and mental. This allows us to state that, in general, the respondents have almost enough potential to successfully master the knowledge of high quality and mental performance. The author indicates promising areas for further work.
