Abstract
Introduction. Combined slabs are often applied in civil buildings. Such methods of slab calculation are described in detail in internal and international normative documents. The work of the slabs under vertical loads is studied minutely. However, additional shear forces in stud bolts from horizontal load are not considered in domestic design practice. The usage of profiled sheeting as the main reinforcement limits the application of international foreign methods is limited by. Besides that, the profiled sheeting types used abroad differ from domestic ones. Materials and methods. The paper studies the horizontal load impact on the flexible anchors in combined slabs using profiled sheeting. The article considered an example of an existing building structure modelled using a LIRA-SAPR software system. Results. The results of numerical experiments were described in terms of wind load and temperature effect on the structure. The values of stud bolt forces from the applied loads were obtained for various working conditions. Further, these forces were compared with the ones from the vertical loads and bearing capacity of a single stud bolt. The bearing capacity determining issue was separately considered according to domestic and foreign design standards as well as stud manufacturers’ regulatory documents. As a result, different bearing capacity values were obtained. Possible reasons for the large discrepancy of the values are given based on calculation formulae taken from documents for determining a load that a single bolt is capable of bearing. Conclusions. A necessity of further studying the issue of providing shear rigidity of stud bolts under horizontal loads was revealed. The distribution of forces in the flexible anchors is affected by the arrangement of floor beams and ties.
