Abstract
The national habitation of Japan and Ukraine during the Neolithic period is studied: comparison of methods of erection of frame structures, influence of lifestyle on the appearance of dwelling in both countries, as well as influence of religion on the arrangement of habitation in Ukraine and Japan, their common and distinctive features. The methods of preserving the architectural monuments in Japan, as well as the forecasts regarding the further state of traditional folk habitation in Ukraine without urgent restoration and renovation.
