Abstract
This paper aims to highlight profession of water-carrier in the Graeco-Roman period through papyri, ostracas and terracotta figurines. It discusses the implements and animals used in carrying and transporting water. It describes examples of water carrier's figurines in the Egyptian Museum in Cairo and GraecoRomanMuseum in Alexandria. The results reveal that the water carrier played an important role in supplying water to people and quarries; they used water skins and depended on donkeys and camels in carrying water.
