Abstract
A simple and rapid HPTLC has been developed for the quantitative analysis of marketed formulations ofShankhapushpi using scopoletin as a marker. HPTLC method was validated as per the ICH guidelinesin terms of linearity, accuracy, precision and specificity. The developed and validated method wassuccessfully applied to standardize the commercial formulations of Shankhpushpi using scopoletin. Thelinearity range was found to be 40 to 120 ng/spot and correlation coefficient was found to be 0.9992. Thelimit of detection (LOD) and limit of quantification (LOQ) were found to be 10 and 30 ng/spot, respectively. The developed method was found to be precise, reproducible, accurate and reliable.
