THE MIDDLE EAST AND THE NORTH SEA REGION UNDER THE SIGN OF CORONAVIRUS

The global context of the Middle East has changed these past few years. Increased power/energy competition brings forth the need for a new strategic outlook. State secretary, Mike Pompeo expressed how the US are and will remain a force of good in the region: ”As we look towards the future, we'll have to see the region in a new light. We will consider the Middle Eastern governments as constructive partners for both regional challenges and global commitments with Russia and China. It is a challenge which the US is well equipped to handle”.
