Abstract

The current research aimed to develop the efficiency of learning and the direction towards e-learning among students who are not specialized in the field of educational technology at the Qaseem University, by identifying the impact of the interaction between the content delivery pattern (unit level - course level) in the e-learning environment and the sailing pattern in the content (linear - Branched). The research sample consisted of (20) students who are all first level students, Division No. (6225), Faculty of Arabic Language in the course: Introduction to Computer (CS101), at the headquarters in Melida - Qassim University. The students' sample was distributed in four experimental groups according to the experimental design of the research. To investigate the research objectives, the researcher prepared a set of tools, namely: an entrance survey, an achievement test and a trend scale. The results of the research with regard to the efficiency of learning revealed that there is no difference due to the main effect of the content delivery pattern (unit level - course level), and the pattern of navigation in the content (linear - branch). The results also resulted with regard to the trend towards e-learning that there is no difference due to the primary effect of the content delivery pattern (unit level - course level), and the pattern of navigation in the content (linear - branch). In light of the results, it is recommended that the course content be presented in a single block and by using a branching sailing pattern.
