Abstract
The article deals with genre analysis of a work of fiction as one of the important tools of forming the professional training of future world literature teachers. The proposed work is a continuation of the author's publications on the creation of a methodological system of the formation and development of genre analysis of fictions taking into consideration the national specificity of the students-philologists. The consequential theoretical literary works (D. Nalyvaiko, T. Sverbilova, O. Kolinko, N. Kopystianska, D. Chyk) that serve as a methodological basis for the creation of the proposed methodological system are analyzed. The study of methodological researches of modern scholars has shown that the problem of forming students-philologists' skills and knowledge of fiction genre analysis on the base of works of world literature is one of little researched in the modern method of teaching literature. Students' comprehension of genre as a key category of literary studies helps the future teacher of world literature to implement methods of comparative analysis of works of national literatures effectively. The article defines the genre literacy of the student-philologist that is perceived as a set of skills and knowledge of students to determine genre by its typological characteristics, to distinguish original author's genre features, to have a good understanding of diversity of fiction genres, to compare the genres of different literatures, to highlight genre changes and transformations. The concept of genre analysis of fiction is considered as a type of literary analysis that reveals the typological characteristics and individual-author features of the genre nature of a work of fiction. It is proved that the effective implementation of genre analysis of fiction based on national specificity provides a significant theoretical knowledge in the courses of An Introduction to Literary Studies and Theory of Literature, History of Ukrainian and World Literature, national and cultural environment of the studied work.
