Abstract

The article examines the phenomenon of human migration to the Far Eastern federal district since the abolition of serfdom and the positive demographic growth of the population until the collapse of the USSR. In this article the main stages of settlement of the Far East by peasants independently and with the assistance of the tsarist state are presented. After the overthrow of the monarchy, from the 30s to the 60s of the XX century, a new type of forced migration appeared in the far East, which played an important role in the development of the in- dustrial sector of the entire district
