Abstract

Conduit metaphors which have used in every part of life, are hard to notice. They are important parts of communication and transfer. These metaphors create the base of communication system. Narrator/writer who coded ideas and thoughts with words to images and listener/reader who analysis/solve the ideas which coded on words are necessary parts of conduit metaphors. Generally, conduit metaphors are consist of thoughts or ideas inside of narrator's or writer's mind. These thoughts and ideas transform to words and transfer along channel to listener and reader. In this phase language is transporter of words, and as to words are transporter of thoughts and ideas. Therefore, container metaphors have a important place inside of conduit metaphors. In Kutadgu Bilig, communication is handled as permutation of systems. Kutadgu Bilig contain written, verbal and imaginal communication system. Vocabulary of these written, verbal and imaginal communication system is conceptualization metaphorically inside of the writing. The topic of this study is send silk and thorn knit terms which are be found 3846. couplet. This metaphorical terms are going to explain in context of conceptual metaphors and conduit metaphors.
