Abstract

The information technology is generally referred to as electronic health or readiness in health care system and represents the readiness of community to participate in the network of implementing the information and communications technology. Numerous models have been designed for e-health assessment in recent years, but a comprehensive e-health model has not been designed yet. The objective of this research is to design the comprehensive e-health assessment model for hospitals. It is a descriptive applied study in which 40 individuals were selected as the samples and the studied population consists of the employed ones with at least 6 months of experience in the health information systems in two hospitals of Tehran. The sampling method was convenient data were collected through three survey questionnaires experts based on Likert scale investigating 24 indexes extracted in five main dimensions. The obtained data were analyzed through factor analysis using SPSS software. The reliability of questionnaires was calculated using Cronbach's alpha coefficient after distributing 19 questionnaires. The results were specified in five main dimensions including the "e-health: 16.2%", "health of information system infrastructures: 14.8%", "human resources readiness: 28.8%", "environmental readiness: 19.6%" and "information technology functions: 14.8%". Furthermore, 22 indexes were selected for the assessment of dimensions and e-health system of hospitals. The indexes were assessed and the final score was obtained after implementing the model in hospitals: Hospital 1 (22 points), Hospital 2 (40 points). The hospital status was drawn graphically after measuring the indexes of model and calculating the scores. The results indicated that hospital 2 had more proper status.
