Abstract

Establishing patterns of eluvial degradation processes and their influence on the formation of the soils profile type is an important condition for their genetic diagnosis. Based on expeditionary and macromorphological researches the morphological and genetic evidence of sod-podzolic (Umbric Albeluvisols) and brownish-podzolic (Brown podzolic or Haplic Cambisols) soils of the Pre-Carpathians are determined. Indicators of silt loss and accumulation in the genetic horizons of soils of different nomenclature were considered in terms of the processes of eluvial degradation. The essence and specificity of the passage in the studied soils of podzolization (acid hydrolysis) and illimerization (lessivage) as predecessors of the eluvial-gley process are given. The joint participation of these processes in the formation of a clarified eluvial horizon of eluvial-illuvially differentiated soils was substantiated.
