Abstract
Experiment was conducted at research farm of Bihar Agricultural College, Sabour (Bhagalpur), Bihar along with different farmer's field. The experiment was laid out in factorial randomized block design with three method of puddling and two method of transplanting. Puddling treatments were done by bullock drawn country plough (T1), tractor drawn cultivator (T2) and disc type puddler (T3). Transplanting treatments were manual transplanting (S1) and transplanting of paddy by self-propelled rice transplanter (S2). The results of experiment revealed that the maximum grain yield of rice (58.34 q/ha) was recorded in the treatment combination of T3S2, where puddling was done by disc type puddler in combination with transplanting by self-propelled rice transplanter. The treatment combination T3S2 was found to be significantly superior in yield attributing characters and yield of paddy than all other treatment combination however minimum grain and straw yield of paddy were recorded in treatment combination of T1S1.
