Abstract
Social entrepreneurship is a specific form of entrepreneurship based on the principles of social, ecological and economic sustainability, which mainly implies reinvesting the profits for community benefits, but it is commonly misunderstood regarding its purpose and potentials. In Europe and in the world there is a growing trend towards the establishment of various forms of social entrepreneurship. The European Union emphasizes further engagement in creating normative and operational grounds for social entrepreneurship support system in accordance with the adopted new economic and social growth model. Legal models in Croatia enable the realization of various entrepreneurial projects and the funds of the European Union support such initiatives. The issue of youth unemployment in the Republic of Croatia, as well as throughout the European Union, requires that social entrepreneurship be stimulated in an organized manner, at all levels, with the aim of creating new employment. By implementing corresponding strategic documents and legal acts, Croatia can improve its educational, consulting and financial preconditions for obtaining more financial support from the European Union, and in this way be able to significantly develop social entrepreneurship, thereby making it easier for young people to enter the world of work.
