Abstract
The ternary composite Bi2O3/ZnO/g-C3N4 was synthesized by simple co-precipitation method. Its potential application as a promising photocatalytic activity for rhodamine B (RhB) and methyl orange (MO) has been reported. The prepared samples were characterized by the various techniques such as X-ray diffraction, fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, x-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, UV-vis spectroscopy, transmission electron microscopy and scanning electron microscopy. These characterization and degradation results showed that the Bi2O3 and g-C3N4 have been distributed on the surface of ZnO nano-particles. Loading of the Bi2O3 and g-C3N4 nanosheets on n-ZnO surfaces resulted in an increased surface area and light absorption ability, which is due to the formation of the Bi2O3/ZnO/g-C3N4 heterojunctions between the semiconductors.
