Remote sensing (RS) and GIS are among the main technical tools for collecting and tracking geographic knowledge during different periods, including vegetation. Our study consists in studying and monitoring the state of vegetation in a very sensitive area (for 20 years) in the steppe region of Bordj Bou Arreridj, using Landsat 8 satellite images with a spectral coverage of 30 meters. The exploitation of remote sensing of the different sensitive areas, as well as the use of geographic information systems for the analysis and extraction of thematic maps, contribute significantly to the identification and monitoring of these natural phenomena (evolution or degradation) and their spatial and statistical analysis and modeling
