Abstract

The purpose of the article is to find out the essence, features and role of personal management (self-management) of the archivist on the basis of the general theory of management, scientific principles and modern approaches to the organization and management of archival business in the context of anthropocentrism and digitalization of archives of Ukraine. Research methodology includes consistent adherence to the principles of historicism, continuity, anthropologism, civilizational, synergetic and systemic approaches, application methods of analysis and synthesis, comparative studies, modeling, expert assessments and social observations. Scientifi c novelty is due to extrapolation the theories and practices of self-management for employees of the archival industry in order to effectively use their time, plan and organize personal work, work in a team, interact and communicate correctly with colleagues, management, subordinates and visitors to the archives; self-development, improve their skills and enrich knowledge, positively infl uence employees; take care of the culture of the workplace, work responsibly with documents, record, store and research them, productively organize and conduct business events; self-improvement, clearly defi ne and formulate life goals, manage their emotional and volitional potential and character, achieve the goal, professional and career growth; self-educate, adhere to and defend moral values, with dignity to bear the high title of Ukrainian archivist. Conclusions. As a result of the research, the peculiarities of self-management of different categories of archive employees were established, the ways of rational use of working time are substantiated, effective use of digital technologies, modern means of information and communication, as well as domestic and foreign experience. Substantiated number of practical recommendations on the wider introduction of the scientifi c organization of archivists' own work based on personal management, creation of a digital workplace, introduction of automated office work and improvement of interaction of archives, fund raisers and users of retrospective information.
