Abstract
ABSTRACT Background: HCC is one of the most common carcinomas occurring in our society it consists of various small and big lesions with different densities and appearances OBJECTIVE: To compare the imaging phases and different appearances on computed tomography in cases of hepatocellular carcinoma. METHODOLOGY: Across sectional study was conducted at Department of Radiology Aznostics.146 patients undergone b i p h a si c c omp u t e d t omo g r a p h y t h r o u g h questionnaires filled up by data sheets. Patients were diagnosed with HCC undergone biphasic on Toshiba acquisition 16 slice helical computed tomography. Inclusion Criteria Patients with HCC and serology of both genders. Pregnant women, Patients of contrast allergy, renal problem confirmed after creatinine test, and with Liver transplant were excluded. RESULTS: Mean age was 57.99 ± 12.68 with minimum and maximum as 23 years and 82 years. 86 were male and 60 were females There were 33(22.6%) patients with focal lesions, multifocal lesions and with no lesions, 33(22.6%) ,88(60.3%) and 33(22.6%) were on hepatoarterial phase HAP. Similarly on portovenous phase 21(14.4%) cases were diagnosed with hypodense lesions, 15(10.3%) cases were hyperdense, 63(43.2%) were isodense and 47(32.2%)were with no lesions. For nonlesion patients out of 25 were 1(4.0%) was isodense and 24(96%) were not seen with any lesion. CONCLUSIONS: It was concluded that portal venous phase (PVP) had more positively significant association for hepato cellular carcinoma lesions. KEYWORDS: hepatocellular carcinoma, hepatoarterial phase portovenous phase
