Abstract
Maize also known as corn is an important cereal in many developed and developing countries of the world. As regards to area and production, maize crop ranks third in world (380 MT from 120MH Cornindia.com). Maize is grown throughout the year in India and the third most important cereal crop after rice and wheat. It accounts for 9.0 percent of total food grain production in the country (India maize summit- 2014) Bihar is one of the most important maize producing states of India and accounting for a substantial share in its total production of the country.
