Abstract
Family agriculture is an exemplary alternative to a less exclusive and environmentally balanced development. Its definition is based on the management of the productive unit where the jobs are performed by family members. In the promotion of a rural location, the harmony between who produces and who buys or intermediates the product is of fundamental importance to promote the structural development of the place and the financial increase of producers. In this context, this mini-review aims to present family agriculture and some of its ways to foster a locality with jobs coming from family production.
