Abstract
Tobacco is one of the revenue generating industry in Pakistan; it has provided employment to thousands of people in different sectors. Meanwhile, tobacco is the major cause of different Non-Communicable Diseases, which ultimately increase the burden on our health care system. Tobacco kills 100, 000 people every year in Pakistan, more than people killed through terrorism. The purpose of this paper is to analyze the issue in light of literature respecting different point of view on the issue. I have concluded that dis-advantages of tobacco industry surpass advantages of it, and recommended strategies to decrease consumption as well production of tobacco to meet Millennium Development Goal (MDG).
