Abstract

In this modern world lots of technologies have been discovered day by day in the field of machining. Some are carried out with the help of conventional methods and others are with non-conventional methods. Electrochemical machining (ECM) and Electric discharge machining (EDM) are two methods that are present already in market. A hybrid machining technique of these two combined forms named as Electrochemical Discharge Machining ECDM uses here. It has compelling characteristics of the two procedures in iti.e. Fined surface finish, great accuracy and low-cost method. It is best for the non-conductive materials like glass, composites, ceramics and silicon wafers. The process parameters taken in this paper are voltage, electrolyte concentration and duty factor. Researchers basically uses different types of electrolytes –NaCl, KOH, NaOH etc. We use mixed electrolyte KOH and NaOH for obtaining better results. In this paper an experiment has been done on borosilicate glass for finding the impact of process characteristics on MRR and TWR.
