Abstract
This article presents a methodological proposal to evaluate the reliability of electrical systems for energy distribution in medium voltage using reliability indexes that are evaluated in specific areas of the circuits to provide greater security of supply to the industrial sector. The reliability assessment methodology by areas was applied to a historical record of events that caused failures in the continuity of service. Results were obtained from the areas most affected, the repair times for the registration of events and the corresponding failure rates. This article proposes an approach, with satisfactory results, to identify weak areas in terms of reliability that can be useful for network planning and preventive maintenance of distribution systems.
