Abstract
Inthegear resonance phenomenon is the main cause of vibration and noise and it is lead to failure of tooth or even failure of the system. In this research, modal analysis is performed on gear without particle and with particle damper. Stainless steel ball diameter of 5mm, 6mm and 8mm are used as particle damper. 3627.9 Hz., 3625.8 Hz. And 3623.9 Hz. These are the maximum natural frequencies of gear with diameter particle 5mm, 6mm and 8mm respectively. While in Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) acceleration will be determine and it shows decrement in acceleration with increasing particle size. Both modal analysis and FFT results shows the remarkable influence of particle to suppress the vibration.
