Abstract
Dielectric-Barrier-Discharge (DBD) Plasma Actuators are considered as a recent research topic that has caught worldwide attention. Plasma actuators are typically used in the aerospace field of study for their flow control and wide usage ofdifferent types of plasma actuators. It is undoubtedly a study that has seen improvements in the flow control in aeronautics. However, plasma actuators are also applicable to combustion in micro combustors for many purposes such as in lean flame conditionand the effect of plasma on flame combustion condition. While the attempts on using plasma actuators in the field of energy and micro combustion is less researched on, it is actually having a large possibility in successfully implement the flow control ofplasma actuators onto the micro combustion field of study. This paper presents the review on plasma actuators where it can be utilized to induce airflow for flow control mechanism. Apart from that, and the types of plasma actuators that can be used for micro combustion application is also presented in this paper
