Abstract
The article deals with the phenomenon of tradition, which acts as a factor of self-organization of society. The analysis of tradition and tradition in the context of cultural-historical and cultural-psychological approaches is carried out. The role and significance of tradition in the system of functioning and development of social organisms of various levels are noted.
