SEEING THE UNSEEN – HIDDEN CURRICULUM – COMMUNITY EXTENSION PROGRAMS AND VOLUNTARY CLUB PARTICIPATION IN DEVELOPING STUDENTS’ SOCIAL SKILLS

Abstract
This study focused on eyeing on the social skills developed among the students in the context of hidden curriculum. Eleven participants were purposively selected in the study. The study utilized the phenomenological approach to flesh out the subjective experiences of the participants in their active participation in activities and organizations. Semi-structured interviews were conducted with the aid of guide questions. The study concluded that the students' voluntary and active engagement in hidden curriculum, regardless of positions held indirectly develops social skills. To name a few, interpersonal, communication, time-management, and organization skills were developed along with adaptability, empathy, and initiative.
