Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to make an examination on Turkish curriculum as a foreign language that prepared by the Ministry of Education Institution of Turkey in 2020, and to introduce the program to stakeholders engaged in academic studies in the field of Turkish education. Qualitative research method was applied in the study. In this context, data were collected by document scanning / review technique. The review of the program was made under 8 main headings. The data obtained through document review are described under these 8 titles (General objectives of the program, preparation process, structure and themes, bases, basic approach, assessment-evaluation approach, objectives achievements, framework and qualifications for each educational level). At the end of the research, it was understood that the program prepared by the Maarif Foundation would make significant contributions in teaching Turkish as a foreign language in many respects and would be a guide to Turkish teaching studies in this field. Receiving the opinions and suggestions of the field instructors about the advantages and disadvantages of this program, which is the first in its field, will make important contributions in the maturation of the program and the elimination of its potential deficiencies.
