Abstract

The Department of Reinforced-Concrete and Masonry Structures has significant achievements in the field of construction research and research training. The famous scientists, doctors of technical sciences studied, worked and conducted scientific research at the department in due time. The powerful scientific school was created by M.V. Savytskyi. The scientific researches are carried out in the scientific school according to the following priority areas: the new methods of the building structures calculation; the new building materials with high technical and economic characteristics; rational design of a new generation building construction, systems of the buildings and facilities with a high technical and economic performance; the foundations of the reliability calculation to predicte of the reinforced concrete structures durability in aggressive environments; optimal design of residential and public buildings thermal protection; the rational design of residential buildings methodology based on their life-cycle according to the criterion of minimum total costs; the quantitative diagnostic method and assessment of the technical condition of reinforced concrete structures; the methodology of repair systems design for reinforced concrete structures. The brief results of scientific research are presented at the article. The perspective investigations that are carried out at the Department of Reinforced-Concrete and Masonry Structures today also are listed.
